About the Macomb Children’s Hands-On Museum In 2010, a group of business leaders formed an organizing committee for the purpose of creating a children’s museum in Macomb County. Early childhood learning is vitally important to the overall development of children and a museum focused on science, technology, and learning through play and interaction is sure to be an asset to both Macomb County and Metropolitan Detroit.
The committee is looking primarily at downtown Mount Clemens as a central location to educate our children, attract and retain an educated workforce, and promote travel and tourism. Currently, the committee has launched the “First Forty” campaign as a direct call to Macomb County residents to fund the museum’s feasibility study. Now completed, this feasibility study will be the "blueprint" for implementation of the museum with a goal to open by early 2014. You can access the complete study by following the link to the left. How can I support the Macomb Children's Hands-on Museum?
